Pastor Marvin Byers, President of Hebron Ministries, recognized that the Bible teaches us that God has given parents the privilege and responsibility of educating their children. For this reason, he felt the urgency to start a complete home schooling program in Spanish so that parents in Latin America could rely on a systematic study program based on biblical principles.
The purpose of this program is to offer parents an effective instrument that will lead their children to Christ, giving them a broader understanding of biblical principles as the foundation for each subject. It will also strengthen Christian character in the students, give them a strong foundation in science, mathematics, the Spanish language, and all their other subjects. Students need to learn the knowledge of the ages from God’s point of view and must be trained in Christian paths so they can have a firm foundation for evaluating the present and for making proper decisions in the future.
Through Hebron Ministries, Spanish-speaking children and teenagers are able to make full use of a systematic program of study with a very high academic level developed with top quality materials, making learning easy and interesting. This program is available in pre-school, grammar, middle and high school levels. Our books and study guides were developed through the study and analysis of subjects from God’s point of view. Because of this, the Word of God, which is the only foundation that provides a true and accurate understanding of knowledge in every area of life, is interwoven into all our study materials. Every lesson presented in our textbooks is firmly based on scriptural truths and has been compiled by a group of teachers with many years of didactic and pedagogical experience. The experience and talents of many people have been put to use to create materials which are well-balanced and excellent in each area of the curriculum.
The Guatemalan Department of Education has praised Hebron School’s home schooling program as a new and original way of teaching, and thus has given its approval for students who wish to study using this method to receive certified report cards. Students who live outside of Guatemala can arrange to receive their certificates through the Department of Education in their respective countries.
